Fully compliant with standards and certifications
Standards and certifications such as EN-13445 and ASME VIII Div.1 for pressure vessels and heat exchangers, as well as the NORSOK standards are always the guiding principles for Klip when developing and building your devices. Depending on your specifications, requirements and wishes for the final product, we always build from the appropriate standards to ensure both quality and safety.
How we build your device
Usually our customers already know relatively well what they are looking for. Take a pressure vessel, for example. We often receive the design data in advance. Think of technical requirements regarding pressure, temperature, the material of the pressure vessel, whether it is a hazardous substance and the phase in which the substance is located. This forms the basis for the initial, brief strength calculations and an estimate of costs. From there, the appropriate applicable standards and certifications are also immediately taken into account.
Based on all this information, you will receive a quotation proposal. This will tell you exactly what specifications and design codes will be taken into account when building your device. After the quotation is approved, the working drawings are made and discussed with you again. These may also go to an independent inspection service, depending on the type of project, of course.
Then we are happy to make a planning with you regarding the final installation of the device. We are happy to take this off your hands. We take the existing situations into account. In the meantime, the certification is further prepared following the pre-production. This runs synchronously with the drawing of the design. After another possible independent assessment and your approval, the device is built.
Depending on the applicable design code, non-destructive tests are performed in the meantime. This includes, for example, magnetic testing, penetrant testing and radiographic testing. After the pressure vessel is built, it is tested again, usually with a hydro test. This examines whether the vessel meets the safety standard by putting it under pressure. The final stage then consists of the pressure vessel being pressurized and final inspections by both you and any relevant authority. An example of our approach
When a good customer from Norway recently faced a major challenge, we were able to help them. This involved a heat exchanger for one of the customer’s ships. While this usually does not have to be a major challenge and such a project can be completed peacefully after about 20 weeks, this time there was an important detail: the ship had to leave in six weeks, with a new heat exchanger on board. By ordering parts from all over the world and working 24 hours a day in different shifts, we finally managed to get the heat exchanger on board within six weeks. Whenever possible, we like to take these extra steps for our customers because we know how much of a difference it can make.
